Wingfield Springs Preservation Group

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
In the face of a daunting challenge — "the proposed redevelopment of Red Hawk Lakes Golf Course" — you chose unity over indifference, courage over complacency, and hope over resignation. Your steadfast support for the Wingfield Spring Preservation Group has been nothing short of inspiring. Neighbors who had never met before stood shoulder to shoulder, voices joined in letters, testimony, conversations, and quiet acts of solidarity that have truly made a difference.
As most residents are already aware, we are thrilled to share that the Sparks Planning Commission voted unanimously to deny the “Foothills Applications”. This marks the first major step in a long process — and our first meaningful victory together. It is a powerful reminder of what a committed community can accomplish when we come together to protect the place we call home: Wingfield Springs with our cherished open spaces, abundant wildlife, natural beauty, and unique character that makes it so very special.
This win belongs to every one of you — those who spoke in front of Planning Commission and City Council members, wrote heartfelt letters, attended meetings, shared information with family, friends and neighbors, provided financial support, and kept the spirit of preservation alive in countless small but vital ways. Your collective voice was heard loud and clear.
While we celebrate this moment, we also look ahead with renewed determination. There will be more steps, more opportunities to advocate, and, we believe, more victories on the horizon. With your continued support and engagement, we are confident we can protect this special community for generations to come.
Thank you for your generosity of time, energy, and heart. Together, we are proving that Wingfield Springs is more than just a neighborhood — it is a place worth fighting for, and a community strong enough to win.
With deepest gratitude and warmest regards,
The Wingfield Spring Preservation Group
